Recent losses on event contracts, initial capital of 901u, sold 140u at noon according to the plan, but watching the market move in the wrong direction, almost wiped out by a sudden surge. After the account balance increased, my psychological defenses unexpectedly became fragile. To avoid repeating the same mistake, I set a rule for myself—over the next week, only risk a maximum of 20u per trade, and only consider increasing positions once I truly control my inner demons.

What’s even more painful is the perpetual contract, which alone lost over 60u; the total unrealized loss has approached 1200u. This lesson made me realize clearly: perpetual contracts seem flexible, but for a trader like me lacking experience, the volatility is too high, and the psychological pressure is enormous. It’s better to focus on event contracts, which at least allow for planned risk management.

Trading is nothing but a battle against one’s greed. This time, I decided—temporarily give up perpetual contracts and focus on studying event contracts. Take it slow, don’t rush.
