Grayscale and Osprey reach a settlement regarding the marketing dispute over Bitcoin trust ETF.
Gate.io News bot message, according to court documents, digital asset management company Grayscale and Osprey have reached a settlement agreement regarding the legal dispute over Bitcoin trust ETF marketing practices. Both parties are required to complete the organization and execution of the settlement agreement documents within 45 days.
The case originated in early 2023 when Osprey sued Grayscale for "misleading advertising" in the promotion of converting GBTC to ETF. Subsequently, Grayscale received SEC approval in 2024 to convert GBTC to ETF. The court ruled in February 2025 that the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act cited by Osprey was not applicable to securities cases, ruling in favor of Grayscale.
