ETH surges 1.18% in the short term: a technical rebound combined with the funding-rate critical condition drives the price higher

From 21:00 to 21:15 (UTC) on June 8, 2026, ETH/USDT surged rapidly within 15 minutes, with a return of +1.18%. The price ranged from 1,689.6 to 1,714.03 USDT, with a 1.45% amplitude. After the price gained follow-through in a key technical support zone, it quickly moved higher, and trading sentiment clearly warmed up. Bitcoin's rally stalls, retreating to around $90,000: macro pressures and stock market pullback trigger short-term trend test

Bitcoin briefly broke through $94,500 amid a significant boost from the Federal Reserve, but the subsequent market correction quickly reversed the gains. On Wednesday evening, the Federal Reserve announced a new bond purchase plan and drastically cut interest rates, triggering a widespread rise in risk assets, with Bitcoin moving upward in sync. However, due to pressure on tech stocks, Oracle's sharp decline drove the Nasdaq 100 index to an eight-day low, and Bitcoin also retreated to around $90,000.
Current market sentiment is at a critical testing stage. Data shows that the total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies has experienced volatility over the past three weeks, shifting from a moderate upward trend to sideways movement, and has retraced to the $3.08 trillion range. If Bitcoin falls below $88,000, it will end its short-term upward trend since November 21 and could trigger even stronger bearish sentiment.

The American teachers' union has demanded the withdrawal of the Crypto Market Structure Act, fearing it would jeopardize pension security

The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) has formally submitted a petition to the U.S. Senate to withdraw the latest version of the Responsible Financial Innovation Act, citing the "serious risks" it could pose to the pension system, the wealth of working families and the economy as a whole. AFT represents 1.8 million members, and this voice is seen as one of the most direct voices against the impact of crypto legislation in the US public sector.
AFT Chairman Randi Weingarten pointed out in the letter that the proposal does not establish the regulatory protections needed to deal with the risks of crypto assets and stablecoins, but may expose pension portfolios that are not currently involved in crypto assets at all to market volatility and regulatory loopholes. She emphasized that once pension and 401(k) plans gain exposure to tokenized assets with inadequate regulation, it could pose a threat to the long-term financial security of retirees.
