Crypto analyst Joao Wedson stated that according to on-chain data, large Whales have not been accumulating Bitcoin for a while.
Cryptocurrency analyst Joao Wedson announced that addresses holding between 100 and 1,000 BTC have stopped accumulating, indicating a significant structural change in the Bitcoin market.
This range is often considered critical for reading institutional trends, as it represents funds, companies, and professional investors. According to Wedson, the accumulation of these wallets stopping is a signal that should be carefully monitored regarding the future of the market.
Wedson points out that the behavior in question bears similarities to the cycle in 2021. During that period, the annual accumulation curve of addresses of the same magnitude turned downward, and within a few months, the price of Bitcoin started to weaken, leading to a transition into a bear market. The current stagnation is considered to indicate that institutional investors have adopted a cautious stance again.
According to the analyst, this situation does not directly signify a sell signal or automatically indicate the beginning of a bear market. However, the aggressive cessation of accumulation by large whales serves as an important warning in terms of liquidity and demand dynamics. The decrease in interest from the institutional side of the market raises the possibility that price movements could weaken in the medium term.
