Ethereum Has Become a Haven for Scammers
Since the Fusaka upgrade on December 3, 2025, which reduced transaction fees, USDT micro-transfers have skyrocketed 612%, with the vast majority being fraudulent transactions
Scammers generate "counterfeit addresses" (addresses highly similar to those commonly used by victims) and exploit zero or minimal-value transfers to place these fake addresses at the top of victims' transaction records
When users make their next transfer, they see the familiar characters at the beginning of the address and copy it directly, resulting in funds being sent to the scammer's wallet
Always carefully verify transfer addresses multiple times!
