Last night, a group member just asked me what to do about their long position being underwater. Their average cost was brought down from 73,200 to 72,100, and they showed me a screenshot showing a 10,000U loss. They asked me if they could still recover from it. I've always been helpful—as long as the question isn't too tricky, I can answer it.
I told them that 72,100 isn't a high price point. The market just needs a little shake and it'll go up. Watch the market carefully. If something feels off, you have to get out, even if you take a small loss—it's way better than getting liquidated. At 11:30 PM I told them the decline had temporarily stopped. At 1:46 AM I reminded them to come back and watch for an exit. At 2:18 AM I poked them again, but they didn't reply. I thought they had already closed their position.
This morning they told me they got liquidated. They fell asleep yesterday and didn't see any of it.... I don't know what to say anymore. In this market, if you don't treat money seriously, the market will give you the worst possible outcome. I've met many people like this—taking positions that are too large, no stop-loss discipline. I've taken losses myself and shared my experience with you to help you avoid those mistakes. But some people just have to learn the hard way.
