Just looked at the XRP wallet distribution breakdown and something interesting stood out. The average holding is 12,350 XRP per wallet, but that number is basically meaningless when you dig into how many xrp wallets actually exist and how they're spread out.

So here's the thing - there are millions of XRP wallets out there now, but the concentration at the top is wild. Just a handful of mega wallets (talking 5 accounts with over 1 billion XRP each, and 22 more in the 500M-1B range) are skewing the entire average upward. These whales alone hold tens of billions of tokens. Meanwhile, over 3.7 million wallets are sitting below 500 XRP. That's the real story about how many xrp wallets hold meaningful amounts.

When you actually look at the distribution across all those addresses, the median is probably somewhere around 300 XRP - nowhere near that 12K average. Most people holding XRP have way less than the headline number suggests. This is why averages can be super misleading in crypto. The median and distribution bands tell you way more about what typical holders actually own than just looking at one mean figure.

The data reinforces something important: if you're trying to understand real adoption or holder behavior, you need to look beyond aggregate metrics. The concentration among large holders has an outsized impact on those numbers.
