Golden Finance report, the office of Democratic Congressman Jason Crow is seeking an investigation by the U.S. Capitol Police into Trump, due to social media posts made by the president that they describe as “intimidating, threatening, and concerning.” It is very rare for a member of Congress to request an investigation into a sitting president. Crow's request is a faint attempt that touches on the vague and long-standing legal question of the extent to which a president is subject to the normal procedures of the criminal justice system. Trump previously made several posts calling Democratic lawmakers “traitors,” demanding that they be “arrested and tried,” and declaring to “lock them up,” and he also wrote that “inciting rebellion is punishable by death” among other content. Crow stated, “After the president sent these messages, the number of calls and emails received by our congressional office containing violent rhetoric and additional threats has significantly increased.”
