OpenLedger, supported by Polychain, has launched the OPEN Mainnet for AI data traceability and creator payments.
PANews, November 18, reported by The Block, OpenLedger has launched the OPEN Mainnet. The team has created a decentralized network aimed at providing data provenance and an automated contributor compensation mechanism for artificial intelligence systems. Users can upload datasets to the shared “data network,” where developers can train models and automatically complete payments through smart contracts. According to OpenLedger, this model draws on the economic model of creator platforms like YouTube, aiming to help researchers, writers, and domain experts who support AI system training to earn revenue. The core of the OPEN Mainnet is the “Proof of Ownership” system, which can record the origin of each dataset, model, and agent on the chain. Every output result from AI can be traced back to the original contributor, thereby achieving verifiable credit records and automatic payments. OpenLedger states that developers integrated with the network can easily build AI agents without managing infrastructure or data hosting. Contributors' earnings are processed by the protocol's OPEN token, distributing rewards based on the ownership trail on the chain. This infrastructure is referred to as “Data as a Shared Service,” providing data producers with tools to access the AI supply chain, allowing them to earn passive income when models use their works. Last July, it was reported that OpenLedger completed an $8 million seed round financing, led by Polychain Capital and Borderless Capital.
