Fed's September Decision Hinges on Next Week's Inflation Data, Economist Warns

According to Yelena Shulyatyeva, senior economist at The Conference Board, the Federal Reserve's September policy decision depends on next week's inflation data. A "large group" of officials is waiting for the data to confirm whether inflation continues to decline toward the Fed's 2% target. "If that doesn't happen, I think they will raise rates," Shulyatyeva said.
