Palantir Stock Falls 5.81% on September 2 Despite U.S. Army Contract Win

PLTR1.03%

According to Yonhap Infomax, Palantir Technologies (PLTR) stock fell 5.81% to close at $169.46 on September 2, despite the company securing a U.S. Army production contract for its TITAN (Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node) AI system and announcing the appointment of former AIG CEO Peter Zaffino as global financial services head.

Analysts attributed the decline to profit-taking pressure amid a soaring price-to-earnings ratio of 144x, which has raised valuation concerns for the growth stock. Investors viewed the positive news as an opportunity to reduce exposure at elevated multiples.
