When I went to the convenience store downstairs to buy coffee in the morning, the cashier girl was chatting with another customer. That guy was scanning his face to pay while exclaiming, "Whose privacy isn't exposed these days?"

My heart sank a little - this sentence is just too real.
In recent years, we have clearly become more dependent on various AI and blockchain applications, but behind every "use" lies a silent surrender of our privacy. Whether it’s wallet addresses, transaction records, or our living habits and model training data, everything is laid bare. In simple terms, the more we use, the more we expose.

It was not until I recently researched a project called Zama (@zama) that I first felt there might really be a chance to "use AI without being exposed" in the future.

They are working on something that sounds very impressive—FHE, fully homomorphic encryption. Don't be scared by this name, essentially it is:
👉 Data can still be "used" by programs while in an encrypted state.
👉 You can calculate and run directly without decrypting first.

For example, if I let AI help me calculate the salary structure, I used to have to "unlock" the salary data for it first; but with Zama's FHEVM, AI can perform calculations without being able to "see" the data.
It's like this: you give it a locked box, and it can precisely complete the task without opening it.
Privacy is locked up tightly throughout.

Zama has applied this principle to the field of machine learning, creating Concrete ML. This means that AI models can also be trained and inferred directly on encrypted data.
Imagine this - in the future, hospital data doesn't need to be shared, internal company data doesn't need to take risks, and AI can learn and compute.
Moreover, they are also taking an open-source approach, allowing developers to come and try as they please, and modify freely. This is not about shutting the door and playing alone; it is intended to invite the entire Web3 and AI community to come together and make big things happen.

Many people say that "privacy and efficiency cannot coexist," but Zama's approach directly contradicts this statement.
This is not just a minor technical upgrade, but a paradigm shift.
If you are also concerned about the future of your data, perhaps this project is worth a closer look.
