On November 28, the Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Tang Ping-keung, expressed condolences to the victims and their families regarding the fire at Hong Fu Court. The fire has resulted in 128 deaths, including 108 bodies transported from the scene, 4 who died after being sent to the hospital, and 16 charred bodies still inside the building. It cannot be ruled out that more bodies may be discovered later when the police enter the scene to collect evidence and conduct investigations. The identities of 39 deceased individuals have been confirmed, with about half of the remaining bodies found within the units, and it is believed that their identities can be confirmed later. More than 40 other bodies still require identification. The police have received 467 missing persons reports, some of which are duplicates. It is now confirmed that among the missing persons, 39 have died, 35 have been injured and sent to the hospital, and 110 are safe, while about 200 individuals remain unaccounted for, including 89 whose bodies could not be identified.
