Many people criticizing recent regulatory proposals miss a crucial context: outside the US, virtually none of the major economies—India, China, UK, EU—show genuine enthusiasm for crypto. They mostly just... tolerate it. Barely.

To be honest, this logic is a bit rigid; tolerance ≠ building an industry, it feels like endorsing regulation. If we want to legitimize ourselves, it’s not going to be through the government’s approach; we need to be more capable ourselves. The gray areas are indeed uncomfortable, but being boxed in isn’t necessarily better. This article is a bit biased; actually, the EU is slowly working on stuff. Instead of waiting to be "respected," it’s better to prove that we are worthy of respect. Legislation is indeed necessary, but do people really care about those details?
