## When a star finds its direction: Brayson Cyrus releases a long-awaited single with his sister
The 31-year-old singer and producer Brayson Cyrus has finally released the track "Know This," featuring his sister, Grammy Award winner Miley Cyrus. This release marks a turning point in the musician's career – the first time siblings have decided to combine their talents in one composition.
The story behind the song reveals how the artist approaches work creatively. Brayson Cyrus explained that he started with an energetic, positive sound. Together with co-writer Jordan Lindley, they created the track in just an hour – a conscious choice by the musician, who prefers a quick creative process over deep digging into details.
"We wanted to make something fun and bright," Brayson explained. Initially, the song consisted of a repeating chorus, but later the musician returned and reworked the lyrics, giving them meaning and depth. The lyrics tell of moving between Franklin(, the singer's hometown near Nashville), and Los Angeles – the verses are dedicated to memories of home, while the chorus reflects impressions of California.
### Miley Cyrus's vocal power in the project
When the full version of the track was ready, Brayson realized that the composition lacked power. The idea to invite his sister came unexpectedly – even the sound engineer suggested her name at the same time. "There’s no one else who can bring such vocal strength," the musician admitted.
Miley responded immediately with a yes. But instead of one track, she sent 15 vocal layers for overlaying. Brayson was amazed by the quality of her work – he listened to her harmonies separately and immediately understood that it was perfect. To preserve her raw vocal power, he minimized processing and kept the material as clean as possible.
### Evolution of sound: from Javelina to folk-pop
With the release of the Javelina album in 2021, Brayson Cyrus created a mix of psychedelia, folk, and alt-country. But now the musician has come to the conclusion that diversity is not always an advantage. "I loved everything I did before, but I realized: instead of doing everything at once, it’s better to focus on one direction and do it well," the artist shared.
His new phase of creativity is built on different principles. Brayson self-produced the material for the first three to four months, laying the foundation of the songs from scratch. The main focus is on lyrics, acoustic guitar, and melodies. Everything else is built around this core. The musician strives to remove anything that distracts or breaks the overall picture.
"I want to clearly understand what I’m good at and what makes people happy," Brayson said. "My new album is folk-pop, acoustic pop music. Songs that can be listened to on the road, during a walk, or on a hike."
### Future collaborations
On his new album, Brayson Cyrus is working with several well-known names. Besides Miley, the project features Tyler Ramsey from Band of Horses, co-writer Jordan Lindley, and the group Old Sea Brigade. The musician hinted at the possibility of another family collaboration in the future.
Regarding live performances, Brayson is in the process of preparing tours and festival appearances. "We want to present the best show possible," the singer promised.
The single "Know This" featuring Miley Cyrus is already available on all streaming platforms.
