WAL's technical approach is somewhat unique. It is built on Ethereum Layer 2, but the key feature is the addition of custom privacy transaction functionality—this part of the code is currently not open source, and the official plans to release the source code only in the second phase of the mainnet.

I personally tested a few transactions on the testnet. The confirmation time for regular transfers is around 3 seconds, which is relatively fast compared to similar projects. Currently, the gas fees are subsidized by the project team, but they will switch to a dynamic fee mechanism later.

Regarding security audits: the smart contract has passed two rounds of audits, but one of the reports pointed out some moderate risk improvement suggestions. The good news is that the team claims the latest version has fixed this issue.

That said, the technology stack ultimately cannot be judged solely by whitepapers and speeches. True stability depends on the performance after large-scale deployment, which is the real test of the product's strength.

The privacy code is not open source, which doesn't seem right... Let's see when it actually goes live.

Privacy code is not open source, which is enough to make people scratch their heads... Wait, are you going to publish it later? --- 3-second confirmation speed is okay, but being paid to cover gas... how will the rate compare when it goes up later? --- Did the intermediate risk level change? I don't believe you, you need to review the audit report yourself. --- Still need to see the real performance after launch; no matter how much you hype now, it's useless. --- Layer 2 + privacy sounds good, but why is the privacy feature so mysterious? --- The team says it's fixed, but code review is another matter. --- Just running a few transactions on the testnet is enough; the production environment is the real test.

The fact that the privacy code isn't open source is indeed a bit concerning. To be honest, we'll have to wait until the second phase to verify. --- The 3-second confirmation speed looks good, but with the project team subsidizing the gas fees now, anyone dares to run it. --- Whether the medium risk has been changed or not, who knows? Let's wait until it goes live to see. --- Sounds good, but we'll see the real performance on the mainnet. Everyone is too good at storytelling now. --- The worst thing is that the privacy features are never open-sourced. This black box feeling is too strong.

Privacy code not open source but daring to go live, this move is a bit bold --- 3-second confirmation speed is okay, but I'm worried that when gas fees rise later, the true nature will be revealed --- Intermediate risk, changing at will? Have to wait until the mainnet is truly running to believe it --- It's the old issue of white paper vs actual operation, watching the show --- The lack of transparency in privacy features is indeed a bit hard to bear

If the privacy code isn't open source, claiming a 3-second confirmation first—I've seen this trick way too many times.

The fact that the privacy code is not open source really warrants a question mark --- 3-second confirmation speed is okay, but I'm worried about gas fees skyrocketing later --- Intermediate risk has been fixed, but who can guarantee... --- Waiting for the big launch day when the truth will be revealed, anything said now is just a waste --- A well-written paper doesn't necessarily mean the product works; this is the easiest to be fooled --- The privacy feature is so critical yet hidden; I am a bit uneasy about it --- Gas is currently subsidized; the real test will be after launch, we'll see then
