Kaito is phasing out its legacy Yaps incentive system and rolling out a revamped version. Here's what's shifting:

The previous model had a straightforward appeal—participation was unrestricted, which drove significant activity and engagement numbers. But this openness came with trade-offs: the feed got flooded with promotional spam and countless low-quality contributions that diluted signal in the ecosystem.

The new direction signals Kaito's pivot toward quality-over-quantity mechanics. Rather than casting a wide net that captures everything, the updated system appears designed to filter noise and reward substantive engagement. This kind of shift reflects a maturing approach across Web3 platforms, where early growth-at-all-costs strategies are being replaced by more deliberate curation frameworks.

For users and community members, the transition means the dynamics around earning rewards are fundamentally changing. Those who benefited from simply promoting any brand will need to adapt, while contributors focused on meaningful content may find better visibility and compensation in the new setup.

It is worth noting that this shift from indiscriminate incentives to quality screening is essentially a reconfiguration of the game equilibrium. According to the logic of governance proposals, Kaito's recent actions are actually fixing the incentive incompatibility issue— the previously open-ended mechanism, from a Token economics perspective, should have been rejected long ago.

Here comes governance again. Do you really think removing the spam accounts can save the ecosystem?

lol called it. every platform that lets anon randos farm rewards without friction eventually turns into a cesspool. the spam flood was inevitable, tbh. now they're scrambling to build gates after the damage is done... classic web3 move.
