Let's take a look at the storylines of airdrops in the crypto ecosystem over the past few years—2020's Flare had great potential but was hard to realize, 2021's ParaSwap airdrop controversy is still being criticized, and in 2022 Hop Protocol quietly ended. In 2023, 5irechain attempted a comeback but received a lukewarm response, and last year Scroll was highly popular but had varying claims about actual returns for token holders. Now, Monad is taking over in 2025, but can it rewrite the fate of airdrop projects? Looking ahead to 2026, will new projects continue this cycle? The entire market seems to be asking: when will we see a truly practical and valuable airdrop mechanism?

It's that time of year again when new retail investors are being harvested. What makes Monad capable of breaking through?

Another round of airdrop determinism—sounds nice, but it's still just a series of behind-the-scenes manipulations and insiders harvesting profits.

Honestly, the old tricks of airdrops should have gone bankrupt long ago. People are still talking about Flare, ParaSwap, and those things, which just shows how much damage they cause.

Another airdrop and destiny. To put it simply, it's just a rebranding tactic to harvest retail investors' funds again.

I saw this article again at 3 a.m... The line from Flare to Monad is really heartbreaking, and the key issue is that the liquidity depth data hasn't improved. I calculated the spread for the trading pairs during the ParaSwap wave, and the slippage was outrageously high. Now that Scroll is live, the arbitrage opportunities have been completely taken over by bots, which really says a lot. Can Monad break the deadlock? Unless they truly design a different incentive mechanism, it's still the old routine.

Another year, another new project, another round of airdrop dreams. Can Monad really break through this time? I'm skeptical.
