#Ethereum co-founder #VitalikButerin warned that unchecked complexity could undermine Ethereum’s trustlessness, self-sovereignty, and long-term resilience.
He argued the protocol risks becoming bloated by adding narrowly tailored features and advanced cryptography, making it harder to audit, maintain, and secure.
Vitalik urged introducing explicit “simplification” and “garbage collection” mechanisms—reducing code size, avoiding unnecessary dependencies, and strengthening core invariants—to ensure Ethereum remains understandable, upgradeable, and durable over the long term.
