The native asset of the Plasma chain, XPL, has recently become a market focus, mainly because it serves the DeFi ecosystem, stablecoins, and gaming applications. In 2025, this asset experienced quite a few fluctuations, and its performance under the overall bear market environment was somewhat disappointing.
As of January 20, XPL was quoted at around $0.1249, down 5.03% in 24 hours, with a weekly decline of 21.34%. The circulating supply of 2.1 billion tokens supports a market capitalization of approximately $258 million. In the short term, the market is indeed somewhat panicked, but this price range has actually formed a decent support level.
Looking back at history, XPL rebounded in the second half of 2025, but macro pressures and regulatory uncertainties pushed the price back to around $0.1. Entering 2026, the trend began to shift. Some analysis institutions pointed out that the selling pressure on XPL is weakening, the price is relatively undervalued, and there is an opportunity to "buy the dip." From a candlestick perspective, a symmetrical triangle pattern has formed, with support at $0.066. If it can hold above $0.074, it may surge toward $0.089.
Regarding the full-year trend, market opinions vary widely but are generally optimistic. It is worth noting that in July, 2.5 billion XPL (25% of the total supply) will be unlocked for the team and investors, which could bring significant selling pressure. However, if the ecosystem adoption rate keeps up, this pressure can be absorbed.
Predictions from different institutions vary greatly: some say the price will fluctuate between $0.09 and $0.36 throughout the year, averaging around $0.15; others are more aggressive, believing it could reach a high of $2.91, a rise of over 2200%; some forecast quarterly, with a possible bottom at $0.052 in Q1 and a rebound to $0.55 in Q4, with an annual ROI potential of 313%. A more conservative target price is $0.38, while in a bull market, it could reach $0.75.
Overall, the performance of XPL depends on two key factors: the overall market recovery pace and whether the project ecosystem can truly take off. Currently, it is in a wait-and-see stage.
