Trump releases AI "Jesus Self-Portrait," core supporter base erupts with the strongest protests
Mars Finance News: On April 14, U.S. President Trump released an AI-generated image portraying himself as a depiction of Jesus Christ. This move angered the religious right and sparked the strongest protest among Catholic and evangelical supporters since he returned to the White House.
The CEO of the nonprofit organization “Catholic People Support Catholicism,” John Yep, said: “We’re a bit overwhelmed. Catholics overwhelmingly support this president, yet at this moment he is so disrespectful toward our faith—this truly leaves us confused.” The organization had previously hosted religious activities at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate and maintained close ties with the government.
In recent years, despite initial doubts, conservative Christians have always supported Trump, standing by him through two impeachments and three elections. Trump also delivered on his campaign promises to them by nominating Supreme Court justices who helped overturn the ruling of the “Roe v. Wade” case.
But for many Christian leaders, the image Trump posted on “Zhen Shi Social” on Sunday night—along with his sharp criticism of Pope Leo XIV—has already crossed the line. (Jin10)
