Trump responds to the pardon of CZ: I don't know who he is, I've heard this is Biden's political persecution.
On November 3, Trump recently accepted an interview with CBS News, during which the host questioned why he pardoned CZ. Trump stated, “I don't know who he is. I know he was sentenced to four months in prison or something like that. I've also heard that this is political persecution by Biden.” The host further questioned, “In 2025, CEX facilitated a $2 billion World Liberty Financial stablecoin transaction. Afterwards, you pardoned CZ. How do you view the suspicion of this 'pay-to-play' game?” Trump responded, “I don't know what you're talking about; I can only tell you this. My sons are very interested in Crypto Assets. I'm glad they're interested because it could be a great industry. I think it's good. You know, they're in business, not in government work.” It is worth noting that World Liberty Financial denied involvement in the pardon.
