Recently, I saw someone bring up the meme about Sun Ge again, which reminded me that there are indeed quite a few people in the crypto community who are speechless about this character.

Speaking of Sun Ge's rise to fame, it's actually quite interesting. This guy was already causing a stir back at Peking University in his early years—winning top speech awards, founding the Western Studies Society, interning at Southern Weekly—his resume looked quite impressive. But if you look closely, he already knew how to leverage publicity to spread his name back then.

After entering the crypto scene, Sun Ge quickly accumulated wealth and influence by promoting projects like TRON and BitTorrent. His marketing methods are indeed quite effective—things like market-making teams, insider trading, simplifying KYC processes—he managed to hype these projects up in a short period. From a business perspective, he definitely has some skills.

But the problem is, Sun Ge's approach has also brought about huge controversy. His projects have been accused of insider trading, money laundering, telecom fraud, and other issues. While not all of these allegations have been fully proven, they have certainly caused many people to doubt his projects and operational methods.

So basically, the reason Sun Ge is called that way is partly because he really made money in the crypto world, and partly because many of his operational tactics and the controversies surrounding his projects have led the community to view him increasingly negatively. That’s the reality of the crypto scene—some see his business acumen, but more remember the controversies he’s brought.
