ETH is in deep trouble! BTC is soaring wildly, while it’s like the “retired veteran employee”

When BTC recovers to $82,000, ETH’s performance makes many people feel heartbroken. Others are called “digital gold,” but ETH is more like the “scapegoat in the office”—it’s slowest when the market rises, and most active when the market falls.
Some analysts have even warned directly: if this trend continues, the ETH/BTC ratio could drop another 40%.
What does that mean? Simply put: BTC might rise 10%, but ETH may only go up 3%; BTC drops 5%, and ETH could fall 12% first. It’s all about “suffering upfront, enjoying the benefits absent.”
In the past few years, ETH has always been seen as the big brother in the altcoin world. But now, the market sentiment has shifted. Institutional funds are increasingly favoring BTC because BTC is simpler, more stable, and easier to tell the “digital gold” story. And what about ETH? Too many Layer2 solutions, too competitive an ecosystem, gas fees too complicated—newcomers feel like they’ve walked into a programmer’s exam scene.
More importantly, US ETF funds are also clearly leaning toward BTC. What are institutions most afraid of? Explaining things poorly. BTC’s logic is simple: “inflation hedge + scarcity.” ETH? You have to explain staking, burning, Layer2, DA, then staking again… by the end, clients are already falling asleep.
So now ETH is a bit like the once-dominant smartphone king: technically still advanced, but capital is starting to look for new narratives.
However, does ETH really have no chance? Not necessarily.
Every time BTC surges wildly, market funds will eventually look for “more elastic” assets. As long as BTC stays high, funds will eventually flow back into ETH and altcoins. The question is: can it become the main player again?
Currently, ETH’s biggest problem isn’t technology but market sentiment. People are starting to worry: will the future bull market turn into “a bull market only for BTC”?
If this trend holds, the entire altcoin ecosystem could be revalued.
So right now, ETH is like a former top star: still capable, but the audience has started watching short videos. #比特币波动
