On May 13th, MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference announced a set of data, showing that the global autonomous intelligent agent task volume has rapidly surged from 120 million times daily in 2025 to 870 million times daily in 2026.

This explosive growth rate of nearly 7 times reflects that end-device intelligence has become an irreversible trend.

MediaTek director, president, and COO Chen Guanzhou pointed out that AI agents are reconstructing and upgrading more and more industries and application scenarios.

Against this background, traditional hardware design models can no longer support the high-frequency, all-time environment perception needs of the intelligent agent era.

Therefore, MediaTek officially released the Dimensity AI Intelligent Agent Engine 2.0.

It is reported that, with the help of Dimensity SensingClaw technology, this engine aims to provide low-power, all-time sensing capabilities, enabling device manufacturers to create Agent OS with proactive perception and cross-application driving capabilities.

Building on this, MediaTek also launched the Dimensity AI Development Suite 3.0, upgrading the end-side intelligent agent multimodal capabilities and accelerating the deployment of intelligent agent applications on the edge.

The Dimensity AI Development Suite 3.0 features four main characteristics: support for LVM model visualization deployment; new Low Bit compression toolkit; new eNPU development toolkit; and the new Dimensity AI Partner.

According to official MediaTek data, over the past three years, the growth of Dimensity AI ecosystem partners has reached 240%, and downloads of the development suite have increased by 440%.

At the conference, MediaTek announced system-native Claw collaborations with OPPO, Xiaomi, and Transsion, characterized by proactive perception, proactive execution, and seamless cross-end data flow, while also balancing privacy protection and data security on the edge.

In previous software ecosystems, users had to frequently switch manually between various independent apps.

Since 2025, the Doubao Mobile Assistant and Open Claw have demonstrated a new paradigm for human-computer interaction. However, due to firewalls between independent apps and user privacy security issues, this paradigm has not been widely promoted on the edge.

Next, how terminal manufacturers will leverage the edge AI computing power advantages of chipmakers like MediaTek to further reduce interaction latency, improve intelligent decision accuracy, and truly turn proactive human-computer interaction from a concept into a popularized experience will be a key task.

In the era of intelligent agents, the competition among chip giants has shifted from purely hardware performance scores to ecosystem stickiness.

It is not hard to see that chip giants are reconstructing traditional mobile application ecosystems and OS islands through underlying “agentification” technology, transforming from mere power-selling SoC hardware vendors into providers of the “invisible infrastructure” for next-generation AI interactions.

The control over terminal interaction is entering deep waters.

When native system-level intelligent agents completely dismantle traditional app ecosystems, manufacturers capable of providing stable, all-time, low-power intelligent infrastructure will hold the top-tier benefits.
