Lesson 4

Tools for Inscriptions

This chapter will introduce tools such as the Inscription Market, Inscription Wallet, and Inscription Analysis Platform to assist you mastering inscriptions.

Chapter Content

Inscriptions are part of the blockchain world. Players wishing to make profits and discover opportunities in the world of inscriptions need to make basic preparations and use advanced auxiliary tools.

Wallets

Your wallet acts as the gateway to the inscription world. Whether you use a multi-chain wallet like MetaMask or an ecosystem-specific option like DPAL Wallet, connecting to inscription applications is possible. Since inscriptions are essentially on-chain data, all you need is a public and private key pair to mint, transfer, and manage inscriptions. However, some wallets offer a more user-friendly experience and additional functionalities. The following section focuses on two feature-rich Bitcoin wallets suitable for storing, trading, and transferring popular Bitcoin inscriptions like BRC-20.

Ordinals Wallet

Ordinals Wallet is a non-custodial wallet lets you view and store BTC, Ordinals NFTs, and inscription assets. You can directly create and transfer Ordinals NFTs within the wallet, and even list BRC-20 tokens on the Ordinals Wallet marketplace. Beyond the Bitcoin inscription ecosystem, it also supports storing, creating, and trading DRC-20 tokens within the Doge ecosystem. By visiting the official website and selecting “Connect Wallet,” you can create a web-based wallet. This allows you to view Bitcoin and Doge inscriptions, market trends, and conduct transactions. Ordinals Wallet has evolved to become a multi-purpose platform integrating a wallet, inscription tools, and a marketplace.

Xverse

Xverse is a leading Bitcoin wallet that supports Ordinals, BRC20, STX, and Rare Sats, and can currently be used on iOS, Android, and Chrome desktop versions. Xverse wallet, developed by the original Stacks team’s engineers at Secret Key Labs, is dedicated to providing support for decentralized applications including DeFi and NFT collectibles. One major advantage of Xverse is that it allows users to directly connect with the well-known hardware wallet Ledger, while also supporting the vast majority of applications on the Bitcoin Layer2 Stack. They even established an exclusive $STX (Stack’s Token) staking pool for users to directly stake and earn staking returns.

After downloading Xverse, users can utilize the wallet to send, receive, and trade on-chain assets. They can also directly purchase BRC-20 inscriptions and display NFTs. However, its most notable feature is the ability to display Rare Sats.

Inscription Trading Markets

Unisat

Unisat is an active BRC-20 inscription trading market that initially started as an open-source Google extension wallet for Bitcoin ordinals and BRC-20, and has been continuously expanding. As of December 22nd, it has already reached 40k downloads. As shown in the figure, Unisat now offers more than just wallet services. It also supports inscribing, inscription information search, BRC-20 information listing, BRC-20 Swap, and other businesses in the trading market.

One advantage of using Unisat is that it provides data information that can serve as a reference for inscribing. For example, you can check which inscriptions have a larger number of holders but have not yet been fully minted. These inscriptions, with more participants, are more likely to experience price increases and gain value.

EVM.ink

EVM.ink is a multi-chain inscription trading marketplace, covering major EVM chains such as BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, and Polygon. Users can use it simply by linking common wallets like MetaMask. EVM.ink provides rankings and information retrieval for Tokens and collectibles (Inscription NFTs). Similar to Unisat, users can view the status of inscriptions and Inscription NFTs in the market under the “Token” and “Collection” sections, and can also trade in the “Marketplace”.

Magic Eden

Initially, Magic Eden was a marketplace primarily for NFTs on the Solana blockchain. After establishing a leading position on Solana, it became a multi-chain market, subsequently expanding into Ethereum and Polygon. In March 2023, with the rise of Ordinals NFT, Magic Eden officially announced its expansion into the Bitcoin ecosystem. Now, Magic Eden has become an indispensable marketplace for Ordinals NFT and the inscription world.
Magic Eden supports Bitcoin ecosystem wallets such as Xverse, Unisat, Leather, as well as multi-chain wallets like Tokenpocket. As shown, Magic Eden displays rankings and basic information about Ordinals NFT, which users can freely buy and sell. It also provides a query and ranking service for Rare Sats.

Inscription Analysis Platforms

Dune

Dune is a data visualization software platform that converts complex data into human-readable tables and visual graphics. It offers various visualizations to intuitively present data, including bar graphs, area graphs, line graphs, pie charts, etc. On Dune, users can program data panels or view those designed by others.

On Dune, there are many data panels created by data analysts publicly available for everyone to query and use, including those related to inscriptions. Users can search in Dune’s search box to obtain related data panels. For example, by entering “Inscription” in the input box, you can find data panels created by various data analysts.

GeniiData

GeniiData is a visualization tool for inscriptions with a wealth of features. Some features require ownership of certain NFTs to use, but the basic functions are already sufficient for ordinary users. As shown below, GeniiMap is a visual market chart that displays the hottest inscription protocols, BRC-20 inscriptions, and the current inscription file format. There’s also an Alpha signal square for users to monitor whale and “smart money” addresses, allowing users to follow those addresses with higher win rates.

In addition to visualizing trends and signal squares, GeniiData can also be used to filter inscriptions on its [INSCRIPTIONS] page using various criteria. You can select from six indicators, such as time, content type, and protocol. And it supports four protocols - BRC-20, ORC-20, Bitmap, and Domain Names.
