CoreWeave is once again in talks for the acquisition of Core Scientific, with Microsoft as its largest client.
On June 27, according to reports, CoreWeave is in talks for the acquisition of Core Scientific. About a year ago, this artificial intelligence company attempted to acquire this digital infrastructure company but was unsuccessful.
Informed sources say that as long as negotiations do not encounter obstacles, the deal may be finalized in the coming weeks. It is currently unclear what the specific terms of the negotiations are, but Core Scientific has been growing rapidly recently and may receive a substantial premium.
CoreWeave provides cloud infrastructure for artificial intelligence capabilities and is a partner of several large technology companies. According to its initial public offering documents, Microsoft is its largest customer, accounting for 62% of CoreWeave’s revenue in 2024. CoreWeave acts as an intermediary, leasing the use of Nvidia graphics processing units to companies like Meta and IBM.
