Ginsy Cash reported that Amazon Web Services has announced the general launch of its dedicated AI chip Trainium3, stating that the computing speed of this chip is four times faster than the previous AI chip. Compared to systems using similar (GPU) graphics processing units, the Trainium3 chip designed by AWS's Annapurna Labs chip design division can reduce the cost of training and running AI models by up to 50%. These chips are designed to provide greater computing power for software developers, including Dean Leitsdorff, co-founder and CEO of the smart video startup Decart. Leitsdorff said that after testing several chips from competitors, including Nvidia processors, his company achieved a breakout with Trainium3. The launch of Trainium3 is the latest assault on Nvidia, which dominates the graphics processing unit market.
