The biggest fear in spot trading is making a wrong decision and missing the chance to turn back. I previously invested 110 million yuan in a spot project, only to lose 200,000 USD directly. After being trapped, I just accepted it and didn't cut the position, holding on and waiting for a rebound.

Waiting and waiting, the market finally picked up. Seeing the rising candlesticks, I couldn't hold back and chased in at a market cap of 26 million. Who knew at this moment a dark horse project suddenly emerged, attracting capital flow, and the assets I bought started to weaken. Watching the losses grow, I panicked and cut my losses at a market cap of 19 million.

Right after cutting, I immediately chased the dark horse again, going all-in at a market cap of 12 million. And the result? Both sides took hits. The dark horse didn't take off, but the original project rebounded. I missed both opportunities and ended up losing more than 40,000 USD.

Now I realize that retail investors trying to make money through trading, this path is really too difficult. It's not that the skills are lacking, but that mentality and judgment are too powerless in the face of such volatility.

Really, the moment you chase a dark horse, you've already lost. This is the classic FOMO killer, buddy. The project rebounds the moment you cut your losses—should you laugh or cry? Once your mentality collapses, all technical skills are useless. I see through it. Getting hit from both sides is probably the fate of retail investors. Spot trading is basically gambling on your mindset; technical analysis is secondary. Chasing and cutting—it's a mandatory lesson for leek farmers. $40,000 for a lesson isn't too expensive.

Buying high and selling low, a classic retail investor tactic. I've also lost a lot this way. Once I cut, I want to chase; once I chase, I want to cut. You can never keep up with the rhythm. That's why I now mostly hold long-term and don't mess around anymore. When your mindset collapses, even the strongest skills are useless. You're absolutely right.

This is the consequence of chasing gains and selling in panic. Watching others soar to the sky, I just can't sit still.

Oh no, this is a typical case of chasing gains and selling losses. My mindset has collapsed. Losing on both sides is the worst, I've been through that too. That's why I don't dare to chase black horses anymore; it's too easy to get cut.
