A lot of so-called 'Bitcoin L2s' are basically just sidechains relying on centralized bridges. Here's the thing though—if you can't actually force-exit back to Bitcoin itself, then you don't get Bitcoin's security guarantees. That's the real difference.
BitVM2 changes this by building around permissionless exit mechanisms and native Bitcoin arbitration. The result? You get genuine Bitcoin-backed security.
What's coming down the pipeline is pretty significant: Bitcoin is about to have its first native zkRollup. And it won't be long now.

Basically, right now, a bunch of L2s are nonsense; there's no way to forcibly exit back to Bitcoin, so they don't deserve to talk about security.
BitVM2 has finally made things clear; this is what true Bitcoin-level security guarantees look like.
Native zkRollup is coming soon; just wait and see.
