I remember not long ago I went to buy a car

The salesperson told me to take out a loan. I said paying in full is fine—there’s no need for a loan.
She said this would make the car cheaper and worked out the numbers for me.
If I took out a 200,000 yuan loan and paid it off over 5 years, the fastest I could settle it would be paying it off all at once after just two years.
If I paid the remaining amount in a lump sum after two years, then my monthly loan payments plus the down payment would be 8,000 yuan cheaper than paying in full.
So I found it very strange—wouldn’t the bank be losing money just to boost sales?
The salesperson replied, “The bank is betting you won’t be able to pay it back after two years, and people like you are the majority.”
