The 5th Ruoshui NFT Art Award Launches Submissions: Exploring the Boundaries of Reality and AI with "Generation 2.0"

"Ruoshui NFT Art Award" enters its fifth edition, themed "Generation 2.0," inviting creators worldwide to respond to the redefinition of authenticity, creation, and authorship in the AI era.

(Additional background: From the myth of 70 million dollars to a $9 toy, are NFTs really "cooling off"?)

The fifth "Ruoshui NFT Art Award" is now officially open for submissions! This year's theme is "Generation 2.0," inviting global creators to use NFTs as a medium to respond to the redefinition of authenticity, creation, and authorship in the generative AI era. The event is co-hosted by the Taiwan Tech Arts Society and akaSwap, and continues to collaborate with the Cultural Content Agency to promote the development of NFTs and digital art. Submissions will be accepted until June 30, 2026.

Since its founding in 2022, the "Ruoshui NFT Art Award" has become an important NFT art competition platform in Asia, continuously encouraging creators to explore more possibilities of digital art through blockchain technology. Past themes have ranged from peace and sustainability, daily observations, fluidity and collective creation, to the pursuit of memory and time, all aiming to respond to cultural and technological changes across different eras. Now in its fifth edition, "Generation 2.0" focuses on the profound impact brought by generative AI.

This year, the Ruoshui NFT Art Award also continues its partnership with the Taiwan Ministry of Culture, supporting forward-looking NFT creations through the "Ministry of Culture Special Award." The winner of this top prize will receive 1,000 Tezos and 1,000 akaDAO tokens, encouraging creators to explore new forms of art at the intersection of Web3, blockchain, and generative AI. The Ruoshui NFT Art Award has long been committed to cross-disciplinary practices in technology and cultural content, and through collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, aims to showcase more Taiwanese and international creators, continuously expanding the possibilities of NFT art within contemporary culture.

As AI quietly infiltrates images, text, sound, and daily information, we are gradually entering an era where truth and falsehood are hard to distinguish. "Does this face you see exist? Has anyone truly hummed this melody? Who designed this building?" If all answers come from generative sources, then does "truth" still have a clear boundary? The Ruoshui NFT Art Award this year hopes to invite creators to confront this gap, and to present their own perspectives and attitudes between human creation and machine generation.

This year's art award imposes no material restrictions. Whether traditional painting, illustration, photography, or digital art, interactive art, generative art, and AI-created works are all eligible to be minted as NFTs on the akaSwap platform for participation. The organizers hope that an open creative framework will encourage artists to cross material and technical boundaries and explore artistic possibilities in the age of generation.

Additionally, this year will also continue to host the "Annual NFT Project Award," nominated by the community and professionally judged by the Ruoshui Award jury. By reviewing innovative NFT projects from the past year in the Web3 and blockchain fields, the event aims to showcase the energy of digital creation and community co-creation.

The award ceremony and exhibition for the fifth "Ruoshui NFT Art Award" are scheduled for August 2026, with details to be announced later. Selected and winning works will be exhibited, presenting diverse and thought-provoking creations at the intersection of generative AI and NFT art.
