Data: Singaporeans are 94% aware of cryptocurrency, but ownership drops to 29%

On May 22, according to Lianhe Zaobao, the latest survey report of crypto exchange Independent Reserve showed that Singaporean people’s awareness of cryptocurrencies rose to 94%, a record high, but the actual holding rate fell from 40% last year to 29%. According to the survey, Bitcoin remains the most popular crypto asset, with 68% of crypto investors holding Bitcoin and 86% believing it to have monetary attributes or investment value.

In addition, 53% of crypto holders plan to increase their holdings in the coming year, and 17% of non-holders say they are interested in entering the market. When it comes to investing, 61% of investors prefer to hold cryptocurrencies directly rather than invest in exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Stablecoin usage continues to rise, with 46% of investors holding such assets, with USD stablecoins being the most popular at 83%.
