Metaplanet announced on the 24th that it has newly purchased an additional 145 BTC (Bitcoin). The average purchase price was 13,284,72 yen per BTC, with a total purchase amount of approximately 1,926 million yen.

The company’s cumulative holdings reached 5,000 BTC, with an average purchase price of 12,818,168 yen, and the total purchase amount reached approximately 64.09 billion yen.

The company announced the “2025-2026 Bitcoin Plan” in January 2025, aiming to hold 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 and 21,000 BTC by the end of 2026. This means that they have achieved half of their target, 5,000 BTC, ahead of schedule.

The additional funds for Bitcoin purchases this time are believed to utilize the funds raised from the issuance of the 11th zero-coupon corporate bond (10 million USD, approximately 1.5 billion JPY) for the EVO FUND conducted on April 16. The company plans to redeem the bonds with the funds from the exercise of stock acquisition rights from the 13th to the 17th.

On April 23, all exercises of the 14th stock acquisition rights were completed, and early redemption of part of the 11th bond (1 million US dollars) was also carried out. Currently, there are 20,554,000 shares of the 17th stock acquisition rights that remain unexercised.

Metaplanet has developed a unique financial strategy combining the exercise of stock options and zero-coupon bonds, successfully accumulating over 4,000 BTC in approximately three months from January to April 2025. The goal of holding 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025 is now in sight.
