Sell orders at a cheap price! Or my journey to the first magical "ting" sound!
I describe everything here in detail, as if I were showing my 85-year-old father how to use a button phone—from "A" to "Z"—because for him, this device is so unfamiliar that he has to take out a pen and paper to jot down every single step.
Preparing the order to sell: a step-by-step guide from top to bottom.
My journey on the exchange starts as usual: I open the app and tap the green circle with the "TRADE" arrows. It's on the home screen, in the bottom toolbar, right in the center of five items: 1. Home. 2. Futures. 3. Trade. 4. Earn. 5. Assets. It's the third button that you need to sell.
After pressing it, I'm taken to a page where everything is real: "BUY" in green and "SELL" in red. Although I sometimes want to buy something interesting, this time I disciplined myself to choose the right target—sell NUMI.
At the top of the screen is the trading pair—two coins separated by a slash. Here, I change the first coin to NUMI, and the second one to $USDT. Of course, you can choose GT or ETH, but I need USDT so I select it from the list. The NUMI/USDT pair is ready—let's continue.
1. SPOT. First, I make sure I've selected SPOT. Very important: I'm not in futures, not margin, nothing that can make me poorer—just spot trading, safe and predictable.
2. SELL. Next, confirm the mode selected is SELL. We're selling NUMI, so that's logical.
3. LIMIT. The next step—choose order type. I select Limit because the fee is lower and, more importantly, I can set the price I want. Who doesn't want a little bit more?
4. Price. In the "Price" box, I set the price for one NUMI. In my case, it's 0.075 USDT per token. Yes, high expectations. Yes, I might have to wait. But desire is serious, and I'm honest about the price I want to get.
5. Quantity. In this box, I enter the number of NUMI I want to sell. You can type it in or use the slider with 5 circles—very intuitive. But I like manual input because I prefer accuracy and control.
6. Total. Here, it automatically shows the amount of money I'll receive if the order is matched at my price. In my case, it's 11.11 USDT—a symmetrical, slightly magical number. If people like pretty numbers, maybe it'll sell quickly?
7. Available. In the "Available" section, I see the number of NUMI I can sell. In my case: 148.17 NUMI. That's the amount I can confidently put up for sale.
8. Sell. After going through all the steps, checking every field, and telling myself "Yes, I'm really doing this"—I press "SELL". A confirmation window pops up: "Confirm NUMI/USDT order", with the red "sell!" and a full list of my settings. Below—a black window with white "Confirm" text. I tap it. Done. Officially sent my order to the market.
I'm taken back to the trading page and see the notification: "Order placed successfully". Below is the "Order (1)" tab. That's where my order is quietly waiting for its moment—and its buyer. When the order is matched, that wonderful sound will ring out—"ting", and I'll receive a successful sale notification.
Summary: at this stage, the preparation process is done, now only the hardest part remains—waiting. Honestly: if I had set a lower price, I would've sold long ago. But who doesn't want a little bit more! So I'll just leave it there, observe, learn, and at the same time sell—or rather try to sell—my expected order. I promise to keep sharing—when I hear that long-awaited "ting" sound. And heartfelt thanks to my patient crypto teachers, who have always explained and guided me forward. #WeeklyHighlightPosts #GateSquare
