Abstract generation in progress

The Ripple community receives news of a significant leadership change. David Schwartz, who has been with the blockchain company for more than a decade, will step down from his position as Chief Technology Officer at the end of 2025. The tech veteran, who served as CTO for over seven years, played a central role in the architecture and development of the XRP Ledger – the technological foundation of the entire Ripple ecosystem.

What does this departure mean for Ripple?

Schwartz’s withdrawal from the operational leadership position marks a turning point in the company’s history. However, his departure from daily management does not equate to a complete retreat. The company announced that Schwartz will ascend to the board of directors – a move that underscores his continued strategic importance for Ripple.

Continuity despite change

The transition indicates deliberate planning. By moving Schwartz from the operational to the strategic level, his expertise and experience remain with the company. With over 13 years of service, including 7 years in a top technological position, Schwartz embodies a key part of Ripple’s technological DNA. His new role on the board ensures the continuity of a clear technological vision, while new leaders in the CTO position can bring fresh impulses.
