The following 6 rules are "survival principles" I’ve learned repeatedly over more than 2,960 days of market education. They’re not profound, but they are all earned with real money.

**First: Rapid rise, slow correction—rarely the top**

Suddenly surging up, then gradually drifting down, this is mostly to shake out retail investors and change hands. When the real ceiling appears, it usually doesn’t give you a chance to escape slowly.

**Second: After a flash crash, climb back up—beware of chasing**

Price suddenly plunges, then slowly climbs back, looking like a "good bottoming opportunity." But in most cases, you’re just following the tail end of others unloading. The phrase "It’s fallen so much, can it still fall?" has ruined many accounts.

**Third: High volume at the top is safer than silence**

High volume at a high level indicates there are still players betting, still hope. But if the price is sideways and volume shrinks, that eerie quiet is the most dangerous signal.

**Fourth: A single large bullish candle at the bottom doesn’t mean a rebound**

The true bottom is carved out gradually. Several days or even weeks of stable volume are convincing. A sudden surge on a single day is nine times out of ten a trap set by the market maker.

**Fifth: Price is just the result; volume is the true cause and effect**

K-line charts are superficial. The real story is in the volume. Volume reflects market consensus, a real-time picture of the forces of bulls and bears ebbing and flowing.

**Sixth: Being able to hold a flat position is the mark of a top-tier player**

Holding no position isn’t giving up; it’s a right. Not chasing the rise is rational; not panicking and running away shows confidence. When you let go of obsession with the market, trading begins to help you make money.
