What exactly is the account freezing mechanism of exchanges? What is the underlying logic?
Many people have experienced account freezes on major exchanges, but the specific reasons are often not very transparent. Is this risk control mechanism primarily for anti-money laundering purposes, or are there other considerations? I hope to see a more detailed explanation.

Account freezing is ridiculous; under the guise of anti-money laundering, anything can be done.

Damn, freezing accounts basically means the exchange wants to pass the buck to AML.
Accounts get frozen for no reason, and customer service can't explain why. It's really unbelievable.
Anti-money laundering is officially required, but in reality, it's just the exchange setting its own rules.

It's all the anti-money laundering rhetoric, but in reality, they're just afraid of trouble...
Account frozen, and that's it. Explanation? Don't bother, buddy.
The risk control mechanism is just a black box; freeze it and freeze it. It's so satisfying.
These days, exchanges call the shots. We're just waiting to be slaughtered.
The reasons for freezing never match up, so frustrating.
