In many crypto projects, some have died in the cycle of having only concepts without products. But there is another approach—technology-driven projects that speak through tangible feature iterations. Walrus belongs to the latter.

Recently, in the Q1 roadmap, a feature called XL Blobs has attracted particular attention. The name might sound a bit unfamiliar, but its significance should not be underestimated.

**Breaking the Storage Capacity Ceiling**

In the past, on-chain storage had an awkward limitation—storing small images or documents was fine, but for large files like video materials or game assets, it was basically a dead end. Either the capacity couldn't keep up, or the costs were prohibitively high.

XL Blobs changed this game. It allows the storage capacity of a single file to surpass GB, even TB levels. It sounds like an increase in capacity, but what does it really mean? It signifies that 3A games, decentralized video platforms, high-fidelity VR social applications—things that previously had no feasible on-chain solutions—now have a technical foundation.

**Cost Gap Compared to Centralized Cloud**

When it comes to cloud storage, giants like AWS are unavoidable. The grand vision of Web3 is to decentralize and reconstruct the internet, but in the hardware-intensive field of storage, we have always relied on centralized services.

What’s truly interesting is the cost comparison. When developers discover that using decentralized storage solutions costs only a tenth of AWS, and they no longer need to worry about data restrictions or deletions, this shift becomes essentially irreversible. The trillion-dollar enterprise storage market is waiting for a sufficiently cheap and reliable alternative.

**Window for Reassessing Value**

Looking at the product roadmap, in the coming quarters, various core features will be launched intensively. Each feature implementation is essentially a re-evaluation of the protocol’s value. Currently, the focus is on an early-stage storage solution, but once commercial-grade features like XL Blobs are truly put into use, the market valuation system may be adjusted according to the logic of technological growth.

Wait, one-tenth of the cost? I need to run an on-chain analysis to verify this number myself; I can't just rely on the article's hype... However, TB-level storage is indeed a bottleneck.

Really? Walrus's wave of XL Blobs directly hits the pain point. Previously, on-chain storage was a joke. Now, can it handle TB-level files? This is what Web3 should be doing. --- One-tenth of the cost... If developers really start using it, AWS would be worried. But whether it can run stably in practical applications is the real key. --- Another roadmap and valuation re-evaluation. Let's wait until the features are officially launched. Nice words are easy to say; only the results matter. --- Breakthroughs in storage layers are indeed worth paying attention to. If commercial applications expand, this will no longer be a small matter. --- The leap from GB to TB sounds great, but can the cost really stay stable at one-tenth? The details still raise questions. --- Actually, I just want to ask one question: how does this compare to Filecoin and Arweave? Is it just another fundraising story?

I've seen all the tricks to manipulate public opinion. Let's see if XL Blobs can actually be implemented.

Wow, finally someone has made storage a real thing, not just bragging One-tenth of AWS's cost? If this can really be implemented, how many projects will need to migrate? XL Blobs sounds ordinary, but breaking into the TB scale truly changes the game Projects with just concepts should have died long ago; now it's about whether Walrus can really scale up Products speak louder than whitepapers; this is the direction worth betting on
