Social media platforms tightening API access policies. A major platform has begun revoking developer API permissions, citing concerns over low-quality AI-generated content flooding user feeds. The move blocks applications that reward users for engagement and content creation.

This shift raises serious questions about the viability of infoFi models—blockchain-based protocols designed to tokenize and reward information sharing. If traditional social platforms restrict programmatic incentive mechanisms, where does that leave information finance projects?

The underlying tension: platforms want to protect user experience and content quality, while Web3 apps rely on open APIs and direct incentive structures. Whether this marks a broader shift toward walled gardens or just a temporary crackdown remains to be seen. Either way, builders in the infoFi space need to rethink their distribution strategies.

Here we go again, centralized platforms are starting to lock down APIs... I've seen this move coming a long time ago. Do they really care about content quality? Honestly, they're just afraid that our Web3 approach will cut into their cake. This round of infoFi probably needs a complete re-architecture. Relying on open APIs is definitely a dead end. We need to think about how to bypass these platforms' controls... or just play on-chain ourselves. Human-generated feeds are being flooded by AI spam bots, which is really annoying. But using API bans to kill innovative models? That’s a bit... What do you think?

Here we go again, hitting a bottleneck this time with the API... I knew it would come to this. Centralized platforms are still centralized after all. Where's the promised openness?

They're banning APIs again. I'm tired of this routine. --- Is infoFi doomed to fail? Or should Web3 wake up? --- Basically, centralized platforms are afraid—afraid of losing control, afraid of losing traffic to earning. --- Distributed incentive mechanisms clashing with walled gardens are destined to break through. --- Instead of complaining about the heavens, it's better for everyone to start building ecosystems on the chain. --- The platform's choke points keep happening. When will true decentralization come? --- The flood of low-quality content is just an excuse; essentially, they don't want users to profit directly. --- It is recommended that infoFi project teams consider establishing independent node networks and stop relying on these bloodsuckers.

honestly the correlation matrix on this one's pretty clear—centralized platforms will always choose rent extraction over ecosystem openness, ceteris paribus. not exactly breaking news if you've studied platform economics at all

Is it coming to choke points again? Centralized platforms are just like this, shutting down at a moment's notice. The infoFi folks are now in an awkward position, as their profit logic has been completely disrupted... Platforms protect their own advertising business, while Web3 is still in a daze. When will true decentralization break this deadlock? Shutting down the API, how many projects will have to cease operations. Honestly, it's still a power issue—whoever controls the entry point makes the rules. This move has completely strangled the entire incentive ecosystem. Why not just block API access? Build your own chain? The cost is insanely high. It seems that infoFi was always a bit naive...

Another API ban? Looks like infoFi is completely out of luck now.
