Ethereum is accelerating towards "scalability, security, and sustainability," and its position in the digital economy continues to rise. By looking at the current key trends, you can feel the vitality of this ecosystem.
**Technological upgrades are continuously advancing**
Sharding technology is no longer just theoretical—Danksharding is being implemented step by step, significantly increasing network throughput while reducing storage costs for Layer 2 solutions. The PoS consensus mechanism is also being refined, with decentralization and resistance to censorship being strengthened. Additionally, account abstraction schemes like ERC-4337 directly improve user experience, with smart contract wallets gradually moving from niche to mainstream, lowering entry barriers repeatedly.
**Layer 2 ecosystem is exploding**
ZK-Rollup and Optimistic Rollup are now mainstream scaling solutions—fast, low-cost, and capable of maintaining Ethereum mainnet security. Even more interestingly, Ethereum is collaborating with modular solutions like Celestia and EigenLayer, serving as the "settlement layer + data availability layer," forming a multi-layered ecosystem.
**Application scenarios are deepening**
DeFi experiences are being upgraded—more efficient liquidity protocols, cross-chain interoperability, and risk management tools are emerging. On-chain gaming and metaverse applications are leveraging Layer 2's high concurrency and low latency to create more immersive experiences. The prospects for RWA (Real-World Asset on-chain) are also gradually emerging, with increasing integration points between traditional assets and blockchain.

Alright, another technical feast, but I remain skeptical about the RWA part.

Wow, is Danksharding really coming? I thought I would have to wait another two years. Now Layer2 costs can be pushed down again.

It's the same old story, sharding, Layer2, RWA... I've been hearing about it for years and still haven't actually used it yet.

Wait, Danksharding has been implemented? I haven't heard about it... Don't tell me it's just another hype, haha.

No hype, no negativity. It feels like Ethereum will truly enter the fast lane once Danksharding is implemented.
Layer 2 has been impressive this round, but the ecosystem still feels a bit scattered.
RWA is really the key breakthrough point; traditional finance is about to go crazy.
Account abstraction should have been popularized long ago. It's crazy that it's only now becoming mainstream.
By the way, can the collaboration between Celestia and EigenLayer truly solve the data availability problem?
Smart contract wallets still feel a bit awkward to use. UX needs further optimization to be perfect.
PoS consensus is continuously being refined, but the risk of centralization hasn't been completely eliminated yet.
ZK-Rollup is fast, but can the ecosystem keep up?
However, this round, the ecosystem is definitely more active than last year, worth paying attention to.

Is sharding really coming? After all these years of saying it, it's finally no longer just a PPT project. Layer 2 has truly heated up.
