Exatlón States United Is Back for Its Biggest Season Yet—Here's What You Need to Know

The tenth season of Exatlón Estados Unidos just got greenlit for Telemundo, and it’s shaping up to be a heavyweight championship. Twenty competitors—including some serious Olympic talent, professional athletes, and international champions—are about to go head-to-head in what’s become Spanish-language television’s longest-running sports competition. The prize pool? A cool $200,000 waiting for the victor.

Premiering December 2 at 7 pm/6c, the show reunites viewers with host Frederik Oldenburg, who’ll oversee the action as Red and Blue Teams navigate the same intense physical and mental gauntlets that have defined the series since its U.S. Hispanic debut. Both newcomers and familiar faces are gunning for the title.

The New Blood: 12 Fresh Contenders Ready to Prove Themselves

The talent pool for this season reads like a who’s who of competitive sports. Among the 12 newcomers are:

Soccer & Field Athletes: Yulisa Acevedo from Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil (recently crowned Kings League Mexico MVP) and José Juan “Gallito” Vázquez, a Mexican midfielder who suited up for the 2014 World Cup, headline the soccer contingent.

International Olympic & Combat Sports: Óscar Muñoz, Colombia’s first Olympic Taekwondo medalist (bronze at London 2012), brings combat sports credentials. Frank “Franz” Weber, a three-time Mexican national elite climbing champion and World Cup Boulder competitor, represents the climbing world.

Multisport Athletes: Johanna Gómez “La Flaca” has squared off in volleyball, track and field, and soccer across Colombia. Alejandra Maldonado, a former gymnast and high-performance heptathlon specialist from Sinaloa, Mexico, set collegiate and U-23 records in her discipline.

Emerging Personalities: Lorenzo Figueroa, son of music star Chayanne and a college basketball player turned entrepreneur from Miami, joins the mix. Kelly Ríos “La Guajira,” a Colombian lawyer and athlete, won “Best Athlete Influencer of the Year” at Instafest Awards 2023.

Other notable additions include María Antonieta Rodríguez (Venezuelan pro swimmer and crossfit athlete), Edrei Salas (Mexican basketball MVP), Dan Pastrana “El Halcón” (Puerto Rican baseball veteran), and Matías Ochoa (Argentine entertainer and Top Chef VIP contestant).

The Veterans Are Back Too

These fresh faces will battle eight returning champions determined to defend their ground. Emmanuel Maldonado and fellow veterans Anisa Guajardo, Denisse Novoa, Emmanuel Jáquez, Fernando Lozada, Kelvin Rentería, Polo Monárrez, Viviana Michel, and Wilmarie Negrón round out the full roster.

“We’re proud to present a season that will capture everyone’s attention, celebrating the competitive spirit, endurance, and teamwork that’s powered this series from day one,” Francisco “Cisco” Suárez, EVP of Primetime Non-Scripted Programming at Telemundo, shared.
