Indian Online Movies Dominate Netflix's Global Charts: Five Titles Break Into Weekly Top Rankings

Indian entertainment continues its remarkable surge on Netflix, with five major productions capturing spots on the platform’s most-watched non-English content list for the week ending November 16. The breakthrough includes three Hindi films—Baramulla, Jolly LLB 3, and Ek Chatur Naar—alongside the Tamil movie Dude and the acclaimed Hindi series Delhi Crime Season 3.

The Standout Performer: Baramulla Reaches Second Position

In its sophomore week on the streaming platform, Baramulla surged from third place to claim the second most-watched non-English film globally. The Hindi thriller pulled in 4.3 million views paired with 8.6 million watch-hours, positioning itself just behind Denmark’s Mango at the top slot.

Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale (known for Article 370), the film stars Manav Kaul as a police investigator dispatched to Kashmir to uncover a case involving missing children. The production, a collaboration between Jio Studios and B62 Studios, employs distinctive storytelling methods to chronicle the experiences of Kashmiri Pandits. Launched on November 7, the ensemble cast includes Bhasha Sumbli, Arista Mehta, and Rohaan Singh.

The film’s momentum extended beyond Netflix’s global rankings—Baramulla commanded the top trending position across the platform and ranked among the most-watched titles in sixteen countries during both weeks of its release. Within India’s streaming landscape, it captured second place across all languages with three million domestic views this week.

Jolly LLB 3 Makes Immediate Impact Post-Theatrical Release

The courtroom comedy Jolly LLB 3 entered Netflix on November 14 following its theatrical run and quickly ascended to fourth most-watched non-English film status globally. Despite only three days on the platform, it accumulated 2.7 million views and 7 million watch-hours.

The third installment in the franchise reunites Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi as competing advocates, with returning cast members Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla, and Boman Irani. Subhash Kapoor’s directorial effort became the second most-watched Indian film worldwide on Netflix for this measurement period and topped rankings across languages in both India and Pakistan. The film secured positions within top ten lists across nine additional countries.

Within India’s broader streaming ecosystem, Jolly LLB 3 claimed fourth place across all content categories with 2.2 million views nationally.

Regional Victories: Dude, Ek Chatur Naar, and Delhi Crime Season 3

The Tamil romantic comedy Dude established itself within the global top five non-English films in just seventy-two hours, collecting 2.4 million views and 5.4 million watch-hours. Directed by Keerthiswaran and featuring Mamitha Baiju and Pradeep Ranganathan, the film from Mythri Movie Makers reached top ten positioning in a dozen countries.

Ek Chatur Naar, a Hindi black comedy thriller pairing Divya Khosla Kumar and Neil Nitin Mukesh, generated 2 million views and 4.3 million watch-hours to rank seventh among non-English films. The Umesh Shukla-directed production achieved top ten status in twelve nations globally.

The International Emmy-winning Delhi Crime returned for its third season, registering 2.3 million views and 11.1 million watch-hours within its opening week. Shefali Shah leads the crime series alongside Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, and new additions Huma Qureshi and Anshumaan Pushkar. The show commanded ninth position on Netflix’s non-English series rankings and dominated web series viewing across ten countries including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, UAE, and several Middle Eastern nations. Within India’s streaming market, it secured second place among fiction web series, trailing only Maharani 4.

Broader Indian Online Movies Momentum

Beyond Netflix’s metrics, Indian productions demonstrated sustained dominance across streaming platforms. The Kannada film Kantara Chapter 1 held the top position across all Indian streaming services for the second consecutive week, accumulating 3.3 million views on Prime Video. The Malayalam superhero film Lokah Chapter 1 descended from first to third place with 2.7 million views tracked by Ormax Media.

Sony LIV’s Maharani 4, featuring Huma Qureshi in a fiction series exploring Bihar’s regional politics, climbed to first position among web shows across Indian platforms this week with 3.5 million views nationally.
