#数字资产市场动态 Ethereum Developer Conference Announces New Progress: Glamsterdam Upgrade Technical Plan Set
On January 16th, the Ethereum core developers held the 228th online meeting, making important decisions regarding the technical roadmap of the Glamsterdam upgrade.
The focus of this meeting was the inclusion of EIP-7843 (slot opcodes), which triggered unexpected technical complexities. Due to the proposal's deep integration between the consensus layer and execution layer, the originally planned deployment of the BALs Devnet-2 testnet had to be postponed. The development team subsequently announced this adjustment to allow more time for refining the core technical details.
During the proposal review segment, the community submitted 7 EIP proposals that were not included in the scope of the Glamsterdam upgrade in this round of evaluation. However, among them, EIP-7954 (expanding smart contract capacity from 24KB to 32KB) was identified as a key follow-up project, with potential for inclusion in the future.
The meeting established a new advancement strategy: the development team will accelerate finalizing the technical details and scope of the upgrade, striving to lock in the final plan as soon as possible to reduce the risk of subsequent delays. This approach will help stabilize expectations for the entire Ethereum ecosystem and the crypto market.
Every major Ethereum upgrade impacts network performance, ecosystem capacity, and market confidence. The final technical plan for the Glamsterdam upgrade will directly influence Ethereum's competitiveness and application expansion in the upcoming cycle. The industry will continue to monitor this progress.

It's delayed again... The development progress is really frustrating, and I didn't expect the complexity brought by EIP-7843.

It's delayed again... The technical complexity is really outrageous, it feels like every upgrade takes forever to sort out.

Another delay? This is a common operation in Ethereum development, anyway I’ve gotten used to it.
---
EIP-7954 looks promising, just not sure when it will actually be implemented.
---
Plenty of time to refine technical details... translated, it just means they haven't decided yet.
---
This meeting feels like just an excuse to postpone, but shared complexity indeed exists.
---
If Glamsterdam can be successfully pushed through, then whether ETH can outperform Sol remains to be seen.
---
It seems the development team wants to be more cautious, at least not rushing to launch and risking failure.
---
Slot opcodes are indeed a deep pit; interaction between consensus layer and execution layer is no joke.
---
Anyway, it’s another developer meeting, focusing on technical details, follow-up to come... still a long way from actual deployment.
---
If this time they really speed up and finalize it... then I might actually start to look forward to it.

Already delayed again? I'm too familiar with this routine; making EIP-7843 so complicated...
Already delayed again? It feels like ETH upgrades are always like this—if one feature gets stuck, the whole process has to wait.
Expanding from 24KB to 32KB is quite practical, but I guess we'll have to wait until the Year of the Horse.
I've seen Devnet delays so often that I'm no longer surprised; the key is how fast it can finally run in the end.
A bunch of EIPs have been cut, leaving only this one key point... the scope isn't very big either.
Repeated delays like this, it's a miracle if market confidence can stay stable.
It seems like the technical details weren't polished before rushing to push, which is probably the real reason for the delays.
I just want to know when this will finally be delayed until...
EIP-7954 always feels like it's far off in the future; better to focus on doing a good job with the current tasks.

Postponed again? This routine is so familiar, always blaming technical complexity... They really never deliver on time.
