Wu said that Moldova plans to complete the implementation of cryptocurrency regulation legislation by 2026, with the regulatory framework aligning with the EU MiCA. Finance Minister Andrian Gavriliță stated that the bill will allow citizens to hold and trade crypto assets but will not recognize them as legal tender, emphasizing that crypto assets are highly speculative and that money laundering and volatility risks need to be guarded against. The relevant legislation will be jointly developed by the Ministry of Finance, the central bank, financial regulatory agencies, and anti-money laundering departments.
