Recently, I've come across quite a few bearish analyses on Dusk, with detailed data laid out. At first glance, it does seem a bit disappointing. However, I've been immersing myself in Dusk's technical documentation and testnet lately, and I've gradually identified an issue — we might be using the current maturity standards to evaluate something that is fundamentally building a different set of game rules.

Yes, Dusk currently has a low TVL and few ecosystem applications, which indeed makes it look somewhat quiet. But this precisely highlights a key point: it has never aimed to compete with other DeFi chains for the same user base. Dusk is targeting a different pool — bringing over assets from traditional finance that originally dared not go on-chain, such as private equity, debt products, fund shares, and similar assets. These "big investors" are still preparing to enter, and one or two years is a normal timeframe.

What I find most interesting is whether Dusk's "compliance abstraction layer" can truly work. They have turned requirements like KYC/AML into on-chain verifiable identity credentials, using zero-knowledge proofs to achieve the seemingly contradictory goal of being "regulatory compliant without exposing privacy." It sounds complex, but once successful, institutional users won't need to build their own entire compliance toolchains — they can just use it directly. The key is that this logic is embedded directly into Dusk's virtual machine XSC, not patched on top but fundamentally changing the underlying rules.

Looking at the ecosystem, although applications are few, they are of very particular quality — such as PieSwap, a compliant DEX, asset tokenization platforms, and identity management tools. You won't find common meme coins or typical "shitcoin" projects here; participants are clearly taking a different approach. This perhaps indicates that Dusk's early builders chose this relatively quiet but more clearly defined path.

Bro, this is what I want to hear. Following the crowd when others call for a short is too low-level. The trend of bringing large traditional financial assets on-chain will come sooner or later. Dusk betting on this track is not brainless. Compliance is indeed a pain point, but I need to see if XSC's underlying redesign can really be implemented; on paper, it all looks good. I appreciate this non-following ecosystem approach; it has a bit of a different flavor. Low TVL doesn't mean no prospects; it all depends on when institutions will really come in. I support this idea, but we still have to wait for actual data to speak. I'm also looking into how XSC's zero-knowledge proof system runs; it feels like there's something there.

Oh wow, someone finally explained it thoroughly. The data showing a bearish outlook on Dusk can indeed be intimidating, but it's like judging McDonald's with KFC standards—it's just funny. For institutions to bring finance on-chain, quick gains and short-term thinking won't cut it. Dusk itself understands this, so they’re not expecting a breakout right now. The key is whether that compliance layer can really work. Zero-knowledge proofs sound very hardcore, and once they get it running, institutional participation will truly be different. There are no meme coins at all, which I really like. It shows that participants aren’t just here for hype. Let’s wait and see; maybe in a year or two, it’ll be a different story. --- Now I finally understand what "wrong time, right direction" means. --- The concept of a compliant DEX has actually never been fully realized. If Dusk can pull it off, it would be very powerful. --- Honestly, I’m more interested in that XSC virtual machine. That’s true bottom-layer innovation. --- Coldness ≠ failure. Many people don’t quite get this logic. --- After looking at so many projects, I’ve never seen an ecosystem that completely avoids meme coins. That’s pretty interesting.

Honestly, focusing only on TVL for bearish analysis is a bit one-sided. Dusk doesn't really need that wave of retail investors; the on-chain institutional finance thing isn't urgent. If the compliance layer can really be implemented smoothly, the future potential is indeed large, but whether the XSC virtual machine can withstand the pressure depends on the actual deployment. Having no local dogs in the ecosystem is actually a plus, at least indicating that the project team isn't driven by利益绑架, which is quite rare. It's just that the hype is a bit premature now; let's wait until institutions really come in before making further judgments.

Honestly, after reading this article, I am a bit convinced. I used to be annoyed by negative comments and didn't really dig into things. Compliance is indeed a pain point. If Dusk really manages to solve this, it won't be a quiet issue anymore but rather a matter of waiting for the right moment. I believe in institutional entry; after all, traditional finance folks won't jump in so quickly. They need to understand the underlying logic first. This time gap might actually be an opportunity. I just want to ask, how is the XSC virtual machine doing now? Has it been used in a real environment? Low TVL is not scary; what I care more about is whether this path can go from 0 to 1.

Oh wow, finally someone has clarified this matter, otherwise those data enthusiasts would lead the rhythm again. I'm also following the compliance aspect; the zero-knowledge proof system is indeed impressive. Once it’s truly operational, institutional participation won't be just a dream. Compared to those TVL supported by MEME and hype, I have to give credit to Dusk's approach.
