U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to implement tariffs on Europe if the continent continues to refuse Greenland's annexation to the United States.

This came in response to a question from a reporter about whether he would resort to using force to take control of Greenland, to which he simply replied: "No comment."

Trump announced his intention to impose higher tariffs on European countries starting next month, explaining that these tariffs would remain in place until an agreement is reached on purchasing Greenland.

This escalation follows his conversation with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, during which Trump said he no longer feels "obligated to focus solely on peace," indicating he did not win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump added: "Norway completely controls the Nobel Prize, regardless of what they say. They like to claim they have nothing to do with it, but in reality, they are fully involved."

The U.S. president called on European leaders to focus on the war between Russia and Ukraine instead of Greenland.

When asked whether he would implement tariffs on European countries in the absence of an agreement on Greenland, Trump said: "I will do it, 100%."
