The previous day’s session left a cautious impression, with Tuesday quotes showing contract closures down 1 to 3½ cents across front-month deliveries after steep Monday selling pressure.

Open Interest and Market Structure

Market participation indicators strengthened during Tuesday’s session, with open interest expanding by 36,635 contracts. The cumulative week-to-date increase in speculative positioning now stands at 81,218 contracts, suggesting growing trader engagement despite price volatility.

Cash and Futures Pricing

The national cash corn benchmark retreated to $3.81½, representing a 1¾-cent decline from previous levels. Specific contract performance shows mixed results: Mar 26 Corn finished at $4.19¾ (down 1¾ cents, currently up 4½ cents), May 26 Corn closed at $4.27¾ (down 2¾ cents, currently up 4¼ cents), and Jul 26 Corn ended at $4.34½ (down 3½ cents, currently up 4 cents).
