[Crypto World] The Hong Kong Monetary Authority recently issued an important reminder, urging users to stay vigilant. Someone has been impersonating the HKMA and its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yu Weiwen, on social media to post information. The HKMA has reported this to the police for handling.
The HKMA emphasizes one point: any latest updates and work-related information about the HKMA will only be released through official channels, including the HKMA official website and verified official social media accounts. In other words, apart from these official channels, all other accounts and pages claiming to represent the HKMA or its officials are fake—do not believe them.
This kind of impersonation of regulatory agencies is not uncommon in the Web3 space, with phishing accounts, false announcements, and scam links emerging constantly. The safest way for users to verify any information from “official” sources is to directly visit the official website or verified official accounts. Do not judge the authenticity based on links or forwarded content. Protect your accounts and assets by starting with identifying what is real and what is fake.

Here we go again? Every time I have to remind everyone to beware of fake accounts, it just shows that there are indeed many scammers.

Really, fake accounts are everywhere these days, no wonder they had to issue a special warning.

Another bunch of fake accounts and scammers. It's so annoying to watch. Those jumping on the bandwagon really need to wake up.

Fake accounts are really hard to prevent, I've almost fallen for them a few times.
