Taiwan Consumer Confidence Rises to 9-Month High

Taiwan’s consumer confidence index rose to 67.16 in January 2026 from 64.30 in December 2025. This marked the highest reading since May 2025, supported by improved optimism across all components of the index. The largest increase was recorded in expectations for consumer prices over the next six months (37.34 vs 32.82), followed by stock market investment sentiment (29.52 vs 26.37) and household financial outlook (80.39 vs 77.68). Domestic economic expectations (83.69 vs 81.39), durable goods purchases (98.20 vs 95.94), and employment opportunities (73.80 vs 71.60) also showed moderate gains.
